Cold Plunge
-
Cold plunging - also known as cold water immersion or cold water therapy, is a practice where a person immerses themself in cold water for a short period of time.
-
Studies show consistent use of the cold plunge has a variety of benefits, including:
Improved circulation
Faster muscle recovery
Reduced inflammation
Mental health benefits
Stress/anxiety reduction
Increased energy and alertness
-
Breathing is a crucial part of the cold plunge experience. We recommend getting into the tub slowly, while focusing on breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth:
Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of 3-4 seconds
Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of 4-6 seconds (your exhale should be longer than your inhale!)
-
We recommend cold plunging at least 2-3 times a week to see the benefits, though you can always do more!
-
Each session on average should be between 3-5 minutes.
However, if you’re new at this, we recommend the first few times to do what feels comfortable.
-
We have 4 cold plunges available!
-
We keep our cold plunges between 47-52 degrees F. It’s important to note you will still see the benefits of anything under 59 degrees F.
However, if you would like it colder, we can turn it down - we just ask you let us know in advance.
